Kaziranga park lies partly in Golaghat District partly in Nagaon District of Assam. it’s the oldest park in Assam covers a locality of 430 Sq km along the river Brahmaputra on the North the Karbi Anglong hills on the South. Wetlands, grasslands, forests riverine habitats fed by the Brahmaputra Kaziranga have all of them. it’s inhabited by the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinos, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers bears, thousands of birds. The National Highway 37 passes through the park area, one can even see the rhinos wild elephants straying near the highway. Today Kaziranga may be a World Heritage Site is perhaps one of the richest, most picturesque wildlife habitats of southern Asia.

The first priority of any visitor going to visit Kaziranga should be to book a place to remain at Kohora which is a small village near the entrance of Kaziranga park.
