Fatehpur Sekri

This town 39 km from Agra was founded by Akbar after his win(fateh) within the battle was called fatehabad then. Akbar himself supervised took a good interest within the building this town. All the buildings here are made in red stone consist of series of royal palaces, harem, courts, a mosque, private quarters other utility buildings.But unfortunately Akbar spent only a short time in this town. The notable buildings here are BulDarwaza , Jama Masjid,Diwan-i-aam, Diwan-i-khass etc. The stories of Akbar-Birbal his navratnas originated from here.
